React Native is a framework that enables one to build world-class application experiences on native platforms based on JavaScript and React.React Native is a mobile framework that compiles to native app components, allowing one to build native mobile applications (iOS, Android, and Windows) in JavaScript. It’s based on React, Facebook’s JavaScript library for building user interfaces, but instead of targeting also browser, it targets mobile platforms.React Native applications are written using JSX. React native provides a basic set of components for both iOS and Android platforms. Some of the components in React Native are Navigator, TabBar, Text, TextInput, View, ScrollView. These components use native iOS UIKit and Android UI components internally.

React Native is a great platform for crearting non-heavily based apps for both iOS and Android. React Native has their owm implementation of rendering components for native platforms.

React Native has a flexbox way of styling instead of regular CSS for the web

React Native has to be compiled to native code where ReactJS can be used directly in the DOM

One can use React Native to develop Android as well as IOS apps with very few or in some cases no code changes.

A simple Javascript editor is required to write React Native apps.

React Native has a wonderful feature called hot reloading where one can make changes to the code, save it and the changes are reflected realtime, we don’t need to run the project every time when we make changes to the code. This feature is similar to Instant run of Android Studio but if we compare the speed on lower RAM computers, hot reloading stands strong.

React Native community is increasing day by day and we can find lot of examples and libraries to help one developing applications more faster.

“Webpack” a powerful module bundler, which is common JavaScript file that combine html data, css data, javascript data etc in common file together and should be served to the client in a response to a single file request. It takes in a bunch of assets (ie. source, images, markup, CSS, …) and turns that into something you can provide to the client. WEBPACK supports advanced functionality such as hot module reloading (instant updates of React components without refresh), lazy loading (load bundles as one’s need), bundle splitting (separate app/vendor bundles), hashing (to bust cache) and source maps (so it’s easy to debug minified versions). Webpack solves fundamental problem of web development very well. It seems that people are pushing common build related concerns to tooling hiding the current complexity.

Earlier with Grunt and Gulp one had to do a lot of manual work to achieve the same output. So, Webpack solves the hard part. Webpack’s approach is more involved and it comes with a learning curve as it relies on configuration and looks very different than other tools. Webpack boasts a bunch of features:

Ability to inject CSS files from your JS – useful if one is creating web components and want the CSS to be bundled with the JS.

Flexible module patterns – you can use CommonJS style, ES6, or AMD.

Ability to recompile only the module that we change, so a faster development cycle.

If we use ReactJS, hot reloading modules using react-hot-loader. This feature speeds up the development quite a bit.

It has its own command line utility, so we don’t need to use gulp or Grunt, though we can if we want.

“Phalcon” a high-performance PHP Web framework. It is written as a C extension. Phalcon is probably one’s go to framework, if the application has to be in PHP and be as performant as possible. Since , it is very fast, but cannot run on shared hosting. As compiled as a C extension into PHP which makes it faster by an order of magnitude. Phalcon doesn’t have footprint in one’s project it resides in one’s memory, so it will not be seen specific code in your project. We can’t play around with Phalcon’s source code and modify to fit different needs.

In PHALCON, as default, directory structure, and the way one write classes dictates routes. Phalcon is blazing fast. Phalcon is different, as it is delivered as a php extension, which will be injected into the php core while running. So, we can just download the extension on Windows, or rebuild it, enable it in php.ini, and after that we got a high performance framework working. It is not easy extendable at all. Phalcon is a completely different framework as its core files are compiled as a php extension. Its fastest PHP framework but because of the dependency on many core api’s the documentation becomes the limiting factor. Phalcon is compiled framework hence changing some core functionality would be difficult. When one’s own code hooks into a class/method of Phalcon, that method will be executed directly as C, which is already compiled to machine code, which is basically as fast as one can get. Unlike most PHP frameworks, Phalcon is implemented as a web server extension and aiming to boost execution speed, reduce resource usage, and handle more HTTP requests per second than comparable frameworks written primarily in PHP.

Pros

Extremely fast

The team seems really dedicated so much so they have a fundraising page to make the lead developer full time

Cons

We’d be relying on a framework we can’t just jump in and fix if there is a bug until an official patch is out.

It doesn’t work with HHVM

#React#MobX#Redux#StateManagement

Mobx and Redux both are used to manage state in JavaScript applications. So, Is it a valid argument that MobX is offering some values that were not available in Redux and has overshadowed Redux, the same way that unidirectional data flow killed two-way data binding or how React with declarative programming killed the traditional MVC/MVVM design patterns. As MobX might be easier to learn as a beginner. Numerous developers may choose MobX if they are about to start a new project from scratch which is an advantage for MobX, having said that it could not be the case for a very long duration as we know how fast paced this industry is! Both integrate well with the philosophy of React and the best part is we have the privilege to change to another state management solution from MobX to Redux and Redux to MobX. In Mobx your state is mutable. On the other hand, in Redux you keep all your state in one global store or one global state.

MobX is infact simple to use, it has a short learning curve and has a quick start. MobX is best suitable for lightweighjt applications and can be used in bigger size projects too, when dealing with explicit constraints. MobX uses multiple stores and is less boilerplate. In case of Redux , it uses a single store over multiple stores to save state. Redux is influenced by functional programming (FP) principles and uses pure functions. In Redux, state is normalized like in a database. In contrast, MobX is influenced by object-oriented programming, but also by reactive programming. And MobX uses multiple stores. In MobX there is way less code, and way faster development process. In contrast to Redux making one change can mean writing code in four files.

So, even there are so many advantages of MobX, it is hard to say that Mobx is a good choice over Redux. As big projects and big teams still need Redux .

Vue.js is a javascript framework to build user interfaces. Vue.js is a library for building web interfaces. Vue.js is simple, minimal core with an incrementally adoptable stack that can handle apps of any scale. Vue is designed from the ground up to be incrementally adoptable. The core library is focused on the view layer only, and is very easy to pick up and integrate with other libraries or existing projects. On the other hand, Vue is also perfectly capable of powering sophisticated Single-Page Applications when used in combination with modern tooling and supporting libraries .

Basically Vue.js let one code in an highly reusable way, create components that one can use as “html-like tags” in your page, binding data, functions and other very useful properties to every component. It has quickly overtaken React.js and jQuery in terms of popularity and it doesn’t show signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Vue.js is truly descriptive , declarative rendering, as oppose to other frameworks/libraries. Vue.js provides a lot of fantastic features to work with DOM. Vue.js does not require webpack. Vue.js also reduces a ton of line of codes. Vue.js is really approachable and provides a little more structure on how to approach various things. Vue.js is also suitable for light-weight projects. It provides very different functionality though, namely structure and modularization. In fact, one can use JQuery and Vue.js together. Vue.js was 3rd most starred project in 2016 on GitHub. Vue is simpler, Vue.js is much easier to integrate into many frameworks like Laravel, Rails or even Django. Parsing, ajax, and data binding can be done with Vue.js. Vue is focusing on building some of the best actions in web UI development like components, declarative UI, hot-reloading, time-travel debugging and etc. Vue.js has a much less complicated learning curve in comparison with Angular 2.

#ReactJS #DOM #JavaScript #AJAX #MVCframework #UI

React is a JavaScript UI library for dynamic websites. React allows to build complex UI using components as the basis of each building blocks. A component is the smallest possible representative of a group of DOM elements along with its corresponding actions and state. It allows to create DOM, from JavaScript, that automatically updates to any state changes within the model. It’s an extremely useful framework when dealing with AJAX, dynamically updated DOM, and single page web applications. React.js is JavaScript library developed by Facebook for building user interfaces – it’s oftenly used as view in MVC applications and it doesn’t make assumptions on rest of stack so you can use it with different tech stacks.

Pros:

Extremely easy to write UI tests cases. This is due to the virtual DOM system implemented entirely in JS

Components can be reuse easily throughout your app. They can also be combined, and wireup together to create even more complex UIs

One can use reactJS as an alternative, or along with popular JS libraries such as angular, backbone and jQuery

React will automatically manage all UI updates when your underlying data changes.

Ease of debugging-There’s a reactJS chrome extension that allows you to inspect the DOM to figure out which component is rendering a particular piece of UI.

Works nicely with commonJS / AMD patterns

Cons:

There’s a learning curve for beginners whom are new to web development.

Integrating ReactJS into a traditional MVC framework such as rails would require some configuration

It’s kind of verbose. Writing components isn’t as straight forward as pure HTML & JS

It’s not a full framework. There’s no router nor model management libraries built into ReactJS — unlike angular or ember.
